The second EM Asia Innovation Awards ceremony was held at the Shanghai Everbright International Hotel on 25th April during Nepcon China/EMT China. Top performers from the electronics manufacturing industry were recognized for achieving the highest standards in their products and services. The ceremony brought together close to 200 industry professionals who celebrated the companies that achieved excellence and the highest standards in the Asian electronics industry.

This year, 22 trophies were handed out to the best in various manufacturing-related products, materials and equipment introduced and offered for sale between March 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006 in Asia, ranging from assembly line tools, cleaning materials to wave soldering equipment. Industry associations including iNEMI, IPC, SMTA, Tsinghua University SMTLAB and Guangzhou Electronics Manufacturing Association (SMT) were present to show support to this awards program.
