Toshiba expands HDD production in the Philippines

Driven by the growing demand for small form-factor drives in the consumer electronics market, Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines Inc. (TIP) announced it is expanding its production of hard disk drives (HDDs) in the Philippines from one million to two million units. TIP hasinvested in the construction of a new cleanroom and the procurement of additional production equipment. The new facilities were inaugurated June 2 at TIP's factory in Laguna Technopark, located 40km south of Makati City.
