Aurona Increases PCB Material Prices Due to Rising Phenol Costs

Taiwan-based Aurona Industries, a manufacturer of phenolic resins laminates, has raised the prices of its products 4 percent this month to reflect the rising costs of phenol, according to the company.
The price of phenol, a chemical accounting for 30 percent of Aurona's production costs, has rose some 50 percent since 2006 to $1,415 per metric ton in February this year, according to Aurona president Chou Ho Shun.
