AE Multi Expanding PCB Operations in Malaysia; Planning for Thailand Expansion
18 June 2007
Malaysia's StarBiz reports that printed circuit board maker AE Multi Holdings Bhd is spending RM6mil this year to expand its operations in Sungai Petani.
According to the report, Group Executive Chairman Yang Wu-Hsiung said the expansion would cater to a new order from a Spanish customer for double-layered silver-through-hole printed circuit boards.
The expansion exercise would be completed at year-end.
Yang said the prospects of the printed circuit board business were brighter in Thailand, where the group also had a production facility. The Thai operation is said to contribute about RM3mil revenue monthly to the group.
The group planned to expand its Thai operations soon.
Yang said in view of rising raw material costs, the group would focus on the sales of higher-value printed circuit boards, broadening its customer base and streamlining its cost structure to stay competitive and sustain growth.
