Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. announced that it has started operations at its Pune facility for lead free solder paste blending manufacturing. Henkel’s facility at Pune was expanded last year to incorporate the solder paste blending facility for its Multicore brand solder paste products. The expanded section, with a capacity of 4 tons per month, is dedicated to lead-free solder paste blending specifically for materials destined for the Indian electronics market.
Dr Tilo Weiss, Regional Business Director of Electronics Group, Henkel Asia says, “This solder paste manufacture plant provides us with an excellent platform for expanding our electronics-related business in India, a region with enormous potential for the future. We have pledged to deliver the most advanced, process-enabling electronics materials and local customer technical support & logistic support to our customers in India and we continue to deliver on that promise. The setup of solder paste manufacture site is a good starting and an example of this commitment.”
“The Indian electronics market is a very high priority for Henkel. With the establishment of the solder paste facility, we are further increasing our capabilities to meet with the local demands and also ensure that Henkel’s leading products are easily available in the local markets,” says Naveen Seth, Managing Director, Henkel Adhesives Technologies India.
The 38,000 square foot Henkel facility, located just outside of Pune, India, is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 qualified and has been operational for over 17 years, producing Loctite brand adhesives for the industrial and automotive markets. All of the plant’s capacity will be earmarked for consumption in the India region.
