On February 21st, Siemens Electronics Assembly Division organized its second “Be certified as a Production Expert” seminar in New Delhi. The topic “Selecting surface mount technology equipment and solutions” of the seminar raised much interest in the attendees. During the seminar the attendees learned how to solve the key issues they face during investment times. The manufacturers learned how to evaluate different SMT vendors through identifying the key value drivers of productivity and performance. Organizing partners were Elcina, a leading Electronics Manufacturing Association and Media partners including Electronics Bazaar Magazine and Electronics Maker.
According to Siemens, the seminar was designed to provide useful tips to help attendees learn about the importance of strategic equipment in India and what factors are essential when comparing vendors. Attendees learned how to identify the real from the hypothetical performance and how to utilize technology to minimize the impact in modifying production requirements from a low mix, high volume to a high mix, low volume production environment. The international panel of speakers consisted of Vinod Sharma, Managing Director of Deki Electronics, Petra Klein-Gunnewigk, Global Product Manager of EA and Kelvin Ong, Business Development Manager of EA Asia.
“In this seminar Siemens has addressed relevant topics tied to the many challenges manufacturers are facing in today’s manufacturing environment. In addition, on top of inviting experts, Siemens also distributed its latest compare booklets to all attenddes to provide them with a quick and easy to use checklist to compare different machine vendors. We hope they have found this seminar and the tools we’ve provided to be useful for their future discussions and investment decisions,” commented Godbole Satish, Managing Director of Industry Sector, Electronics Assembly Division, India.
