DEK has followed up the launch of its PV1200 turnkey solar-cell metallization line and PVP1200 screen printer by announcing the availability of precision screens. According to the company, manufacturers of PV cells can combine DEK’s precision screens with printers from DEK or third-party suppliers to produce ultra-fine print widths of 100 micron and narrower in high-volume production.
“Proven dimensional stability and hard-wearing performance are two key demands for screens destined to serve in the alternative energies industry,” said Darren Brown, Business Development Manager for DEK’s Alternative Energies division. “By combining superior materials with tight control over the manufacturing environment and processes, we are able to deliver long-lasting screens that give repeatable performance at the finest dimensions to maximise the power and efficiency of PV cells.”
The screens are produced in the UK under cleanroom conditions meeting ISO 14644-1 Class 7. Standard manufacturing time is five days, and the facility is equipped to receive customers’ files electronically from any global location. Further features of DEK’s screens service for high-volume customers include local storage of pre-sensitised screens for rapid despatch, as well as user-group sessions and technical workshops hosted by DEK, and access to laboratory services for process development and optimization.
