Tyco Electronics Ltd announced that the company has appointed Rob Shaddock to the newly created role of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective September 15. He will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tom Lynch.
According to Lynch, "Rob has vast experience in a wide range of businesses and technologies in his career and is a terrific addition to the Tyco Electronics team as we continue to put innovation at the forefront of all we do."
Shaddock joins Tyco Electronics from Motorola, where he was Senior Vice President of the company's consumer products business. Before that, he was CTO for Motorola's mobile devices business. Earlier in his career, Shaddock served as CEO of Blue Wave Systems, a UK-based company that developed leading edge technology for the telecommunications and military industries.
Shaddock earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in engineering science from the University of Oxford.
