Shortlist Announced for Organic Semiconductor Industry Awards 2008
29 September 2008
The judges of the 2008 Organic Semiconductor Industry Awards (OSIA) have announced the shortlist for this year's awards. Categories include Start-up of the Year; Research and Development; Product of the Year; and Best Peer-Review Paper.
According to the event sponsor, cintelliq, the aim of the awards is to bring together the whole of the organic semiconductor and organic electronics industry (including carbon nanotubes and flexible, plastic and printed electronics) in a celebration of the organisations and people that are leading the development of this emerging technology.
The number of nominations for the awards was significantly higher than last year and the OSIA 2008 judging panel commented on how the quality of the nominations overall was also significantly higher. The standard of nominations reflects the development of the industry which is itself maturing and becoming more organized.
The winners of the awards will be announced at the networking dinner of the Organic Semiconductor Conference (OSC-08) on the evening on Tuesday 30 September. OSC-08 runs from 29 September to 1 October in Frankfurt, Germany, and is the international conference on organic electronics and organic semiconductor technologies.
Craig Cruickshank, cintelliq CEO and member of the OSIA 2008 judging panel, said, "The awards are an important way to recognise excellence in the industry. We are very pleased with the continued high standard of entries for the awards and are grateful to the panel of judges for their rigorous evaluation of the nominations. The past 12 months have seen a number of significant technical developments in the industry, and these have been reflected in the award nominations."
