Vitronics Soltec Launches New Edition of “5 Steps to Lead Free Soldering” Seminar Program

7 October 2008

Vitronics Soltec announces the re-launch of its “5 Steps to Lead Free Soldering” seminar program with a free one day seminar on November 20th in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. The new series is the ‘QS Edition’ - ‘Motivated by Quality, Focused on Solutions.’

In making the announcement, Seminar Chair Denis Barbini, PhD, said, “This new and dynamic seminar series is designed to improve the quality of your soldering assembly process. By focusing on the solutions for real-life electronic manufacturing, this hands-on approach will allow you to understand and successfully implement process and material controls."

Vitronics Soltec said its vision is to provide its customers and the electronics industry with timely and relevant information on soldering processes. “Over the past 9 years, the Vitronics Soltec Advanced Technology Team has continued its focus on this vision” Barbini continues. “By sponsoring our own research and development, engaging in collaborations with industry leaders, and involvement with consortia, we have gained in-depth experience and pragmatic knowledge. Our goal in this seminar is to share our insights with attendees."

Information and data will be discussed and illustrated at a level that is tangible for managers, engineers, and operators. The “5 Steps” is a step by step program developed by Vitronics Soltec’s Technology Group for multiple production manufacturing environments.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own soldering challenges for discussion in an open forum to be held in the afternoon of the seminar.

Additionally, Jasbir Bath, of Bath Technical Consultancy, and formerly of Flextronics International, Lead Engineer in the Technology Leadership Group, will give the opening address, titled “Electronics Assembly Trends,” and will present “Best Practices in Assembly Processes”.
