Celestica acquires Displaytronix

Celestica Inc. announced that it has acquired Displaytronix, a flat-panel display repair services provider. Displaytronix serves the LCD and plasma flat-panel display market by providing repair services for high-value flat-panel display devices such as notebook computers, flat-panel monitors, high-definition televisions, handhelds and other consumer devices. The company provides in-and-out-of-warranty support to both OEMs and ODMs, and its expertise includes the repair, recovery and replacement of backlights and inverters; tape automated bonding (TAB); anisotropic-conductive film (ACF); and polarizer replacement. According to Celestica, the acquisition will enable it to expand its service offerings in the rapidly growing flat-panel display market.
