Agilent Technologies Hosts Seminar in China on Next Generation Product Development

16 December 2008

Agilent Technologies Inc announced that a delegation of its industry standards experts will discuss with Chinese computer and consumer electronics executives how to successfully design and test products to meet emerging standards.

According to the company, the crux of the seminar is enabling these front-line companies to comply with measurement standards as they design the latest and greatest life-style electronics.

Agilent's presenters are members of the boards of directors of international standard committees for high speed digital bus/interfacing, including VESA, JEDEC and PCI-SIG.

The seminar takes place on Dec 16 at Seaview O'City Hotel in Shenzhen and on Dec 18 at the Ramada Plaza in Shanghai. Seminar topics include:
  • the role of applications and standards support in enabling the development and deployment of new technologies;

  • HDMI test technologies and Agilent's enabling of DisplayPort;

  • successfully negotiating the PCI EXPRESS 2.0 superhighway toward full compliance;

  • SATA 6 Gb/s test challenges and Agilent solutions; and

  • USB 3.0: facing the challenges of SuperSpeed USB product development.

  • "A lot of companies keep investing in China, especially from the R&D perspective," said Perry Keller, Memory program Manager at Agilent's Digital Test Division. "Agilent recognizes the future growth of the Chinese market and is fully dedicated to help electronics manufacturers meet the test requirements for the driving technologies."

    "The most effective way to help engineers is offering them a chance to talk with industry experts face to face," said Dr Fu Li, Professor, Electrical and Computing Engineering, Portland State University, "and many of the leading vendors in China have already been connecting with those experts and they are all excited to meet with Agilent face to face."

    Agilent is partnering with Parade Technologies Ltd and Silicon Image Inc at this event. Parade Technologies Ltd is a privately held fabless semiconductor company that specializes in developing digital video display interface products. Silicon Image is an HDMI Authorized Testing Center in Shanghai.

    After the seminar, Agilent's representatives will visit key companies in China to continue the demonstrations and discussions.
