Indium Corporation Engineers Achieve SMTA Certification

Indium Corporation’s announces that Technical Support Engineers Chris Nash and Liya Koorithodi have earned the title of SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association) Certified Process Engineer (CPE). Indium Corporation says it now has a total of 21 SMTA-certified engineers.
The SMTA CPE program recognizes and certifies the entire SMT assembly process at an engineering level. The testing covers the full range of SMT process steps and issues, including: component placement, reflow soldering, stencil printing, wave soldering, dispensing, test and inspections, and line balancing. Chris provides comprehensive technical advice regarding the selection, use, and application of solder paste, flux, and solder alloy fabrications to customers in the electronic assembly, optoelectronic, semiconductor, and related industries. He has authored numerous process and technical guidelines and has presented at several industry forums and conferences. He is a member of the SMTA and is involved with the IPC standards development committee. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Clarkson University and a Six Sigma Green-Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. He is based at Indium’s global headquarters in Clinton, NY, USA. Liya provides customer and technical support for product evaluations and the implementation of process optimizations. He also provides product training and general technical support to customers throughout India. Liya has eight years of experience as an SMT Process Engineer and holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Government Polytechnic of Kerala. He is based in Chennai, India.
