Intertek Announces Streamlined RoHS Testing Program for Component Manufacturers

19 March 2009

Intertek, a provider of testing, regulatory support, product conversion, and product assessments, announces that it is now providing the semiconductor industry with a streamlined solution for RoHS testing requirements. According to the company, the purpose of the Streamlined RoHS Testing Program is to have North American project management act as the client and laboratory interface, eliminating unnecessary project delays and adding accountability to the testing process.

“Over the years, it has become very apparent that RoHS testing programs suffer from a vital disconnect. Testing projects are usually viewed as purely transactional and this translates into longer lead times, miscommunication, incorrect testing methods and a general lack of communication between North American clients and Asian testing facilities. This program eliminates these issues altogether, and really adds a level of accountability unparalleled in the testing industry today,” says Michael Fry, Global Services Manager for Intertek Ageus Solutions.

Intertek Ageus Solutions offers testing to RoHS and hundreds of other globally restricted substances; package tests for RoHS, REACH, PFOS/PFOA, JIG A / JIG B; and test laboratories in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, US, and Europe.
