CTS Awarded Telecommunications Production Program in China; to Establish Liaison Office in India

1 June 2009

CTS Corporation, a global company in the design and manufacture of electronic components, announced it has been selected to provide a precision oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) by a leading Chinese telecommunications provider. The miniaturized OCXO will be used in TD-SCDMA wireless communications equipment, including base stations.

The Chinese telecommunications company is a major supplier of mobile telecommunications systems, microelectronics, communications access and service for the Chinese market. Manufacturing will begin in June 2009 at CTS’ Tianjin, China facility with initial expected revenues of several million dollars over the next three years. With strong support from the Chinese government, TD-SCDMA is expected to garner a large share of the future 3G Wireless market.

Meanwhile, the company also announced that it is establishing a liaison office near New Delhi, India to engage in business development activities to support India’s fast growing automotive and electronics industries.

"As emissions regulations for on and off-road vehicles tighten and the need for telecommunication infrastructure grows, we expect CTS products to play an important role in meeting the needs of this important and growing market,” said Vinod M Khilnani, CTS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
