Nepcon South China: Electronics Manufacturing Industry Shows Signs of Recovery

28 August 2009

The 15th edition of Nepcon South China, the barometer of the Chinese electronics manufacturing industry, was held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center from August 26 to 28, 2009. A host of delegations, including some from Huawei, ZTE, Foxconn, Flextronics, TCL, Hasee, Samsung and BYD were in attendance to explore and develop trading opportunities presented by the exhibition.

This year’s event spanned 30,000 square meters and hosted more than 500 top exhibitors from 22 countries and regions. In addition to the repeat participation of leading vendors like Assembléon, Yamaha, Sony, Mydata, Samsung, Panasonic, Fuji, Saki and Senju, the three-day event featured hundreds of new displays and several conferences where experts presented their analyses of the key challenges faced by the industry.

At this year’s event, visitors got the chance to see a different side of the economic crisis – the upside. Many new innovations and technologies have been inspired by the rocketing demand for greater efficiency at lower cost.

"Although the economic downturn has impacted the electronics industry in South China, the region, one of the fastest-growing in the country, has established a really robust industry chain. For this reason, we are very optimistic about its economic recovery - an optimism reinforced by our gathering here today. We look forward to see innovative products and technologies from exhibitors, as well as hearing illuminating exchanges among industry insiders. I’m very pleased with the way we have kicked off Nepcon, and wish both exhibitors and visitors a thoroughly rewarding exhibition”, said Josephine Lee, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions East China during the show opening.
