A.C.E Production Technologies Announces Sale of Lead-Free Selective Soldering Systems to GAC

27 February 2006

A.C.E Production Technologies announces the sale and installation of dual KISS-101 selective soldering systems to Governors America Corporation (GAC), an Agawam, Massachusetts, a global supplier of electronic engine controls. The installation is part of GAC’s lead-free conversion program to meet RoHS compliance. The KISS -101 selective soldering systems are compatible with new lead-free soldering alloys.

Following the announcement, GAC’s Kevin J. Hassett, Quality Engineering Manager, said, “With our conversion to a lead free assembly process, and the parallel effort of converting designs from through hole to SMT, we chose to have selective soldering stations as part of our process to compliment the reflow process. The KISS -101 met both our technical and fiscal requirements. Operators have found the systems easy to use. Efficiency has increased and there is less rework than we had with the old wave soldering process.”
