Electrolube Makes the Move to Grow in the Global Electro-Chemical Market

1 March 2010

Electrolube is expanding and positioning itself for continued growth with the announcement that the world headquarters and UK factory will be moving to new larger premises. This is the third move that Electrolube, part of HK Wentworth Ltd, has made since its formation in 1956 when the company had a space of just 3,000 sq ft. The new facility will boast an area of 62,000 sq ft and is located in two buildings in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, UK.

Electrolube Managing Director, Ron Jakeman said: "The move to new premises comes at a time of continuing global growth for the company. The new site includes two modern purpose built buildings which will house administration as well as the research and development department, laboratories and warehousing. Remaining in Swadlincote will allow us to operate continuously and provide our customers with the best service possible. We also place a great amount of value in our people and by keeping the new facility in the same area it has also allowed us to maintain the same experienced and professional staff."

"As a business we had outgrown the building and the new premises will give us the opportunity to operate increased efficiency and provide a productive working environment for the 120 members of staff, which in turn will be cost saving," Jake added. "This is a very exciting time for the company and is part of strategic plan to drive the organisation forward and will strengthen and build on Electrolube’s already thriving reputation in the electronics, including LEDs, automotive and industrial manufacturing industries. The move will ensure that Electrolube continues to be a leader in its field and keeps ahead of the competition in terms of innovation and production.”

According to the company, the move will start in April and take place progressively throughout the year from the existing site so disruption in development and manufacture is not affected.
