Since HannStar Board Corp announced its seeking of strategic partnerships in late 2009, about 10 international companies from Europe, the US, Japan, China and Taiwan have responded, according to company Chairman TP Chiao.
Chiao also said that the monthly capacity of HannStar`s plant in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province of China, is expected to increase to 12 million square feet from 5.7 million after the Jiangyin government maps out the wastewater discharge quota. With factories in both Taiwan and China, the HannStar Board is also the world`s fourth largest printed circuit board (PCB) maker.
To expand HannStar Board`s scale as fast as possible, Chiao openly invited potential strategic partners for joint business development.
HannStar Board shipped 67 million notebook PC motherboards in 2009, a global share of 41 percent, and the company is the most important board supplier to X-Box360 game consoles.
Chiao stressed that his company has the strongest support from the Jiangyin government, which can help to facilitate future development.
