CyberOptics Corporation announces that its 3D post-print inspection head SE500 sensor has been integrated into Milara’s TouchPrint Digital TD2929 inline printer. The system will be on display at IPC/APEX 2010.
Based on CyberOptics’ patented, on-the-fly 3D inspection technology, the SE500 sensor can inspect the most demanding print processes and is capable of scan speeds of greater than 80 cm2/sec. According to CyberOptics, the SE500 sensor is manufactured as an integrated assembly with no moving parts, thus requiring no calibration in the field. The system features telecentric optics for accurate X-Y measurement and robust board warp handling, and is calibrated in a factory clean room through the entire X-Y-Z measurement range.
"After years of seeking an AOI company for this option, it is a pleasure to offer our clients this innovative technological inspection option that has proven itself stable and robust over the years,” said Stephen Brodeur, Program Director at Milara Inc. "We are not a 3D post-print inspection company. We have our own flavor of texture-based 2D post-print inspection and have been constantly seeking an outside source to integrate a high speed/stable 3D option that is capable of generating viable results even with the most minute process changes. CyberOptics combines not only accuracy but speed that, in the realm of automation, is most difficult to attain.”
"We are pleased to provide Milara our award-winning 3D SPI inspection sensor for its TD2929 solder paste printer family. The integration of CyberOptics’ SPI sensor head into the TD2929 achieves, for the first time, 100 percent 3-D solder paste inspection within a solder paste printer without slowing the cycle time of the print process. Coupling CyberOptics’ proven measurement accuracy and speed with Milara’s high-speed, precision print process will ensure consistent, reliable prints,” said Tim Skunes, Director of Technology and Business Development at CyberOptics.
