BPM Microsystems LP has announced its support for the PowerXR family of programmable power controllers from Exar Corporation. According to the company, Exar’s PowerXR ICs, combined with BPM Microsystems’ universal device programmers, significantly reduce development time, cost and are easily reconfigured for real-time design changes.
"Digital power devices, like the Exar PowerXR family, are gaining design wins as system designers are able to realize reduced board areas, reduced BOM costs, and finer-grained control of their power rails,” said Srivatsan Mani, Device Support Manager for BPM Microsystems. "As these products ramp to production volumes, using an off-line programming solution, which also caters to power semiconductor devices becomes critical. We are very excited to be a programmer supplier for Exar's XRP7704, XRP7714, and XRP7740 devices on our automated and manual programmers. In supporting these devices we are able to offer our customers value beyond the typical non-volatile memory, MCU, and logic device arenas.”
