Lite-On Inaugurates Third LED Production Facility in Eastern China

11 June 2010

Taiwan-based Lite-On Technology Corp recently inaugurated a new plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, which focuses on production of power supply system, LED, and solar cell products.

The new plant raises Lite-On`s monthly capacity of LEDs to 500 million units, doubling also notebook PC keyboards to about 2.5 million units from one million.

Lite-On said that the new plant in Changzhou will be its production base of green energy products. In the Wujin Processing Export Zone of Changzhou, the new factory upgrades efficiencies in Lite-On`s supply chain management, customer services, and cost management.

The optoelectronics factory in Wujin is Lite-On`s third base to make LED products and will produce mostly photocouplers, infrared LED, and white LED products, with major applications for switching power supplies, signage lighting, cellphones, LED TV backlighting, and general lighting.

Lite-On`s East China Regional Headquarters was opened in September 2009, commencing with the production of switching power supplies and expanding to LED and keyboard production. In order to provide customers with a full range of products and convenient services, Lite-On claimed that it would continuously integrate its supply chain management in East China and improve overall operational efficiencies.
