Tyco Electronics has named Avnet Electronics Marketing Asia as its Regional Distributor of the Year - 2009. The Tyco Electronics Distributor of the Year Awards honor the firm's top performing distribution partners, and also highlight the standards it has set for its channel partners. This represents Tyco Electronics' highest recognition of the outstanding performance and commitment that Avnet Electronics Marketing has made to its business in the last year.

In 2009, Avnet Asia focused on Tyco Electronics' core industries and growing the business despite the challenging market conditions, according to Tyco. Avnet's extensive geographical presence in Asia provides a good sales and technical support coverage model for Tyco Electronics' customer base. Avnet was praised for a variety of achievements, including sales growth, demand identification and creation, customer base expansion and working capital velocity.
