2010 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair to Celebrate Renewed Growth

8 July 2010

The 2010 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair, with the theme of "Inspiration, Integration, Progression,” will be held on 1-3 December 2010 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, China. The event is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA), Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ).

PCB industry thriving on economic revival
The theme of this year’s fair reflects the renewed mood of optimism in the industry after a relatively difficult year, with the IPC reporting sales in the key North American market recovering substantially from early 2010-–April shipments were up 30.7 percent year-on-year--and rising advance booking figures being "an encouraging indicator of future growth,” according to IPC President and CEO Denny McGuirk, industry participants are now expecting more prosperous times to come.

Furthermore, according to Electronic Outlook Corp 10/09, world electronic equipment production is expected to increase by about 37 percent in 2013 (to $2,129 billion) when compared with 2009 ($1,550 billion). Also, as predicted by Dr Hayao Nakahara of NT Information Ltd when he analyzes PCB production in the HKPCA Journal, "China will continue to lead the world. Its production in 2011 is expected to be twice that of Japan (domestic production only)”.

Supported by advances in mobile telephony, the worldwide move to digital and high definition television, the boom in digital photography, and renewed interest in 3D games and movies – the long term demand for PCBs shows no sign of slowing down. Inspired by economic recovery and strengthened by integration--having been streamlined and consolidated during the downturn--the industry can now progress with confidence and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

Associated with the fair will be a selection of related activities, including the annual International Technical Conference and On-Site Forum, which bring together exhibitors and visitors to facilitate information sharing and give participants an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the industry, from market trends to technological breakthroughs.
