The 2010 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair (2010 HKPCA and IPC Show) opened on 1st December at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, China, amid expressions of confidence in the industry's future from leading industry figures.
The fair, said to be the flagship trade show in Southern China for the PCB and EA industry, will run until 3rd December. The theme of this year's fair, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA), Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ), is "Inspiration • Integration • Progression", reflecting the industry's revitalization and renewed inspiration for growth after the consolidation period of year 2008-2009.
Now in its ninth year, total visits are expected to exceed 30,000. The number of exhibitors stands at 380, taking 1,350 booths with a total floor area of 26,000 square meters. Exhibitors come from 15 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and the USA.
With order books filling and major producers expanding capacity, industry leaders are predicting a period of sustained development for the PCB industry. In welcoming Fair participants, Ivy Wong, Chairman of the HKPCA, said "The economic environment has significantly improved since the second half of 2009, particularly for China’s PCB manufacturing industry. China is taking up 36 percent of global PCB production value in 2010, with continuous orders from producers of consumer electronics and automobiles. The 2010 HKPCA and IPC Show provides the industry with the latest technological knowledge and market trends and helps PCB enterprises solve practical problems. Newer types of cooperation relationship and more valuable technical exchange are keys to the future success of PCB manufacturers, and the fair provides the ideal platform for these."
