LPKF Expands Development and Production

LPKF AG is significantly expanding its space, adding a building and combining the Garbsen development departments at its headquarters in Germany.

"We were in the middle of planning a new building on our property when we received an offer to purchase the building next door. So of course we seized the opportunity. Now we just need to remodel and will be ready to move in this June," states Dr Ingo Bretthauer, CEO at LKPF Laser & Electronics AG. After two extremely positive business years the corporate staff grew from 350 in 2009 to currently more than 470 employees.

According to the company, the neighboring building purchased in January is currently being renovated and connected with the company’s existing complex. So as of June this will give LPKF an additional 3,000 square meters (32,000 square feet) of space. LPKF will be combining the R&D departments there and will be using the freed up space in the old building for manufacturing laser systems. The investment amounts to about 5 million euros.
