Koh Young Technology Inc has been awarded CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 2 Certification, in recognition of quality achievement, by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI). CMMI certification is the quality evaluation standard of global software and IT systems.
Koh Young Technology said it has been working toward this certification for 15 months, from November, 2009 to February, 2011, using the company’s own task force team, and is the first company authorized by CMMI Level 2 in the Korean measurement and inspection industry.
In making the announcement, Dr Kwangill Koh, President and CEO, said, "Achieving CMMI Level 2 certification is recognition that Koh Young meets our customers’ stringent global quality standards. We are proud of the Koh Young team that has worked so hard to bring us to this important level.”
CMMI defines practices that businesses have implemented on their way to success. Practices cover topics that include eliciting and managing requirements, decision making, measuring performance, planning work, handling risks, and more. CMMI practices can be used in a team, a work group, a project, a division, or an entire organization.
The Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) works closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. CMMI is the result of 20 years of ongoing work by the CMMI Product Team, which includes members from industry, government, and the SEI. The SEI is the steward of CMMI, which means that the SEI ensures that the CMMI Product Suite continues to reflect effective practices.
