DEK holds seminar in Chengdu; awards scholarships at Tsinghua University

1 July 2011

DEK has introduced two technologies, ProActiv and Nano-ProTek stencil coating to customers in Chengdu. These latest technologies and application processes, in addition to LGA/QFN rework, were presented at the first Advanced SMT Processes and Applications Seminar 2011 in Chengdu. Jointly organized and presented by DEK and OK International, the seminar attracted more than 100 participants and over 50 company delegates from the electronic manufacturing services, telecommunications and automobile electronics industries from Chengdu, Chongqing, Mianyang and neighboring regions.

Earlier, the printing specialist and Tsinghua Flextronics SMT Laboratory jointly presented the first group of Tsinghua DEK SMT scholarships. The scholarships were awarded to 15 outstanding students from Tsinghua University. The presentation ceremony was held at the University, where DEK management personnel, Tsinghua University professors, and Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) China President, Abby Tsoi, awarded the scholarships to the winning students.

The Tsinghua DEK SMT scholarship was officially launched in 2011, with a view to encourage and recognize potential students who have achieved excellent academic results and are well-prepared to join the SMT industry. Designed for students taking SMT courses in Tsinghua University, the judging criteria of the scholarship are based on students' academic performance as well as an overall assessment of their personal attributes including integrity, team spirit, innovation and capability. The judging panel comprises professors from Tsinghua University, along with representatives from DEK and the SMT industry.
